Paneer Bhurji is very easy and fast in cooking Indian vegetarian main course dish with cottage cheese



  • Cooking oil – 1 tbsp;
  • Paneer (cottage cheese) – 250 grams, scrambled/ mashed;
  • 1 tsp of cumin seeds;
  • 1 onion, chopped;
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped;
  • Ginger-garlic paste (or chopped ginger and garlic) – 1 tbsp;
  • 1 green chilli, chopped – optional;
  • 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder;
  • Red or black pepper – to taste;
  • 1/4 tsp of garam masala – optional;
  • Salt – to taste;
  • Fresh greenery – to taste


  • Preheat a pan with oil;
  • Add cumin seeds, fry them for 30 seconds;
  • Add green chilli and ginger-garlic paste, mix well;
  • Add onions and cook until it turns golden;
  • Add tomatoes, mix well;
  • Add turmeric powder, mix well and cook until tomatoes turn soft;
  • Add paneer, salt and pepper to taste, mix well;
  • Add garam masala, mix well;
  • Cook for 5-7 minutes more, mixing occasionally;
  • Add fresh greenery to taste, mix it and switch the gas off.
