Cream of pumpkin soup

Very tasty, healthy and easy in cooking recipe


  • Pumpkin – 400 g – cut in medium pieces;
  • 1 onion – chopped;
  • 200 ml of milk;
  • 15 g of butter;
  • Salt – to taste;
  • Black pepper – to taste;
  • Herbs, greenery – to taste;
  • Cream – 30 ml;
  • Water – 250 ml;
  • Salty rusk in small pieces/ roasted bread – to taste, for serving


  • Fry onions until they turn slightly golden (but not dark);
  • Add onions to a boiling pan together with pumpkin and water;
  • Add salt to it, mix well;
  • Boil for 20 minutes, until pumpkin turns soft;
  • Cool the vegetables down;
  • Add boiled vegetables to a blender and blend it smooth;
  • Heat the milk to warm condition, keep a flame low and add blended vegetables to the milk, mix very well;
  • Continue mixing, keeping it on a low flame and slowly adding cream;
  • Add black pepper, mix well and switch the heat off;
  • If desire, sprinkle the soup with the herbs/ greenery of your taste while serving or/and add rusk on the top of the soup or serve it with roasted bread.
