Very simple but tasty vegan recipe

Ingredients (for 4-6 sandwiches):

  • Bread – any to taste;
  • Tofu – 200g, mash into small pieces;
  • 1 onion, finely chopped;
  • 2 medium tomatoes or 1 large, finely chopped;
  • Green peas – 50g;
  • A little bit of grated ginger and garlic;
  • Turmeric – 1/4 tsp;
  • Red pepper (chili or paprika) – 1/4 tsp.  – taste;
  • Black pepper – 1/4 tsp;
  • Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp;
  • Salt – to taste;
  • Cooking oil – 1 tbsp;
  • Ketchup/ sauce to taste


  • Heat a pan with oil;
  • Add cumin seeds, fry them for 30 seconds;
  • Add onions, ginger and garlic and fry them until they turn golden-brown;
  • Add tomatoes and cook until tender;
  • Add all the spices except salt, cook for a minute;
  • Add peas, cook for 5-8 minutes;
  • Add tofu and salt, mix everything well, and cook for another 5 minutes;
  • Spread the sauce to taste on the bread slices if you wish;
  • Put the tofu-vegetable mixture on half of the bread slices and cover with the remaining slices;
  • If desired, roast your sandwiches on a pan or in oven for 3-5 minutes.
