Often when international food comes to India, it gets changed according to Indian people preferences: becomes mostly vegetarian and starts having Indian spices. The most popular international food here is Chinese, which is quite different from the one in China, and Italian.
There is 3 types of pasta that are very popular here: Red sauce, White sauce and Mixed sauce. Today we have Red Sauce Pasta Indian style recipe.
Ingredients:
- Pasta – 200g;
- Salt – 1.5 tsp;
- Cooking oil – 2-3 tbsp;
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp;
- 1 green chili – optional;
- Garlic & Ginger – a little bit – chopped;
- 1 onion – chopped;
- 1 capsicum – chopped – optional;
- 1 carrot – cut in small pieces – optional;
- 1/2 tea spoon of turmeric powder;
- 1/2 tea spoon of chilly powder;
- 1/4 tea spoon of black paper;
- 1-2 chopped tomatoes or 5-6 spoons of tomato paste;
- Green peas – 100 g – optional;
- Fresh greenery – optional
Recipe:
- Boil pasta in a little bit salty water with 1 tbsp of oil;
- Add the rest of the oil to a pan, heat it;
- Add cumin seeds, green chili, garlic and ginger to a pan and fry it for 30 seconds;
- Add onion and fry until it turns golden;
- Add capsicum and carrot, fry it for 4 minutes;
- Add turmeric powder, chilly powder, coriander powder and black paper to vegetables, mix everything well;
- Add tomatoes or tomato paste, mix everything and fry the vegetables for about 3 minutes;
- Add green peas and cover the pan, cook it for 10 minutes, mixing occasionally;
- Add pasta to sauce, mix it well;
- Add the rest of the salt and cook pasta for another 5 minutes;
- Pasta is ready! You can serve it with a fresh greenery on the top.
