Falafel is a Middle Eastern dish that has its origin from Egypt. It’s easy to cook, tasty and crispy, high in proteins vegan dish.
Ingredients:
- Chickpeas – 1 cup (soak overnight);
- 1 onion (chopped);
- Coriander/ other fresh greenery – a little bit (chopped);
- Garlic – 1 clove (chopped/ grated);
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp;
- Red chili powder – 1/4 tsp;
- Black pepper – 1/4 tsp;
- Lemon juice – 1 tbsp;
- Salt – to taste;
- Refined wheat flour – 2 tbsp;
- Baking soda – 1/4 tsp;
- Oil – amount required for deep frying
Recipe:
- Boil chickpeas and mash it;
- Add all the ingredients except oil to chickpeas and mix it very well;
- Preheat oil for deep frying;
- Form the balls of medium size with wet hands;
- Put falafel balls for deep frying and fry it until they turn golden-brown;
- Remove the balls on paper towel so that it would soak excess oil;
- Your falafel balls are ready.
